Our Services

All-on-4 Implants

With only four implants in the upper or lower jaw, this innovative technique can support an entire set of replacement teeth for one dental arch. Unlike traditional methods, it eliminates the need for extra bone grafting procedures and allows for immediate results with a full set of temporary teeth on the same day as the initial procedure. The final result is a set of permanent replacement teeth that are secure, stable, and function just like natural teeth.

All-on-6 Implants

Using six specialized dental implants strategically placed, the All-On-6 technique creates a comfortable and stable full set of upper and/or lower teeth. This fixed and permanent solution offers a less invasive and quicker alternative to conventional dental implants for restoring a complete set of teeth. With this innovative approach, patients can enjoy the benefits of a complete set of teeth without the need for removable dentures or additional invasive procedures.

Bridges

In some cases, a tooth or several teeth may be beyond restoration and require extraction. Over time, the surrounding teeth may shift and cause problems. To prevent this and restore full function to a small gap in the mouth, a fixed bridge is often the best solution. The bridge consists of artificial teeth called “pontics” that replace the missing teeth and is supported on either side by natural teeth with crowns that are connected to the pontic. Once the bridge is fabricated and fitted, it is permanently cemented in place. This allows for a natural-looking and functional replacement for the missing teeth.

Cone-beam Computed Tomography

For dental professionals providing dental implant therapy, cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) systems have become the standard of care for analyzing and reconstructing 3D images of a patient’s teeth, jaws, and surrounding anatomy. Unlike traditional two-dimensional imaging, CBCT provides highly detailed and accurate 3D images that cannot be obtained otherwise. This valuable information allows for precise planning and placement of dental implants, leading to improved outcomes and a higher level of patient care.

Crown and Caps

Sometimes a dental crown (cap) is the only way to completely restore the cosmetic appearance and function of the damage to the underlying tooth structure.  The completed dental crown looks and feels like a natural tooth.  It can be fabricated using Zirconia, ceramic (Porcelain) or Gold.

Crowns can also be used in other situations, including:

    • Being the supporting ends of a dental bridge
    • Covering dental implants
    • Coverage for a cracked tooth to prevent further breakdown

Dental Fillings

Dental fillings are a common type of dental restoration that is used to replace sections of teeth that have been damaged or decayed. With the latest state-of-the-art filling materials, such as ceramic and composite materials, patients can enjoy not only strength and durability but also aesthetically pleasing and natural-looking results. These innovative materials offer a range of benefits, including improved function, reduced sensitivity, and enhanced appearance. As a result, patients can enjoy a healthier and more confident smile.

Dentures

In dentistry, missing teeth can be restored with partial or full dentures, which not only help patients regain their ability to chew food properly, but also play an important role in enhancing their appearance and supporting their facial contours. It’s crucial to ensure that the dentures are highly functional and provide a proper occlusion, as this can help prevent digestive issues that are commonly observed in the population.

A complete denture involves the replacement of all teeth in a dental arch, whereas partial dentures are designed to fit around remaining sturdy teeth. To ensure optimal stability and retention of the partial denture, clasps can be added to the teeth surrounding the edentulous areas. When restoring an edentulous mandibular arch, it is generally considered the Standard of Care to place two dental implants in strategic locations.

Implant Dentistry

Losing a tooth as a result of injury, dental decay or gum disease is not uncommon. Fortunately, a dental implant is an excellent solution for replacing a missing tooth. With a dental implant and crown, many patients find that they can regain the look and function of their original tooth. In fact, the presence of an implant can help stimulate bone growth and prevent the shrinkage that often occurs in areas where teeth are missing. Dr. Walters uses both Zirconia (white) implants as well as Titanium Implants

Initial Oral Examination

During your initial visit to our office, we will take the time to carefully review your medical and dental histories and address any specific dental concerns or symptoms you may have. We will then conduct a comprehensive clinical examination, which includes an oral cancer screening, evaluation of your periodontal health, an analysis of your bite, and a thorough examination of your teeth and their supporting structures, as well as the surrounding orofacial area. If necessary, we will also take any diagnostic dental films to aid in our assessment.

Metal-Free Crowns (Ceramic Crowns)

Dental crowns, often referred to as caps, are an effective way to restore the natural function, integrity, and appearance of a damaged tooth. Among the various materials available for full-coverage restorations, metal-free crowns, or all-ceramic crowns, are a popular choice due to their lifelike and biocompatible properties. Ceramic crowns are strong, durable, and lighter in weight than those with a metal substructure, making them gentler on the surrounding soft tissues. They can be used for a range of dental treatments, from cosmetic restorations of discolored teeth to coverage of structurally damaged teeth or dental implants, and even as supporting ends for dental bridges.

Metal-Free Fillings (Tooth-Colored Composite Resin Fillings)

Modern dental filling materials offer several advantages, including being free of both mercury and metal, as well as providing a more aesthetically pleasing result. Known as “tooth-colored” or “white” fillings, they can effectively restore the form and function of a damaged tooth while seamlessly blending in with the surrounding tooth structure. These fillings are virtually invisible, providing a natural-looking solution for patients seeking a more discreet restoration.

Night Guards

Bruxism, the chronic habit of clenching and grinding one’s teeth, can cause a range of symptoms such as jaw pain, headaches, and loose-feeling teeth, and is often most noticeable upon waking. While stress and anxiety are commonly cited as causes, I have found that cervical spine dysfunction and chronic sinusitis are the most frequent underlying factors, with an abnormal bite due to missing or misaligned teeth being a less common cause.

Even young children can experience bruxism, with parents sometimes reporting the sound of grinding teeth from another part of the house. To alleviate the symptoms of bruxism, wearing a custom-fitted night guard while sleeping is often recommended to reduce the impact of tooth grinding. This device helps keep the jaws slightly apart and can prevent muscle strain, excessive pressure on the jaw joint, and dental damage from teeth grinding against each other.

Oral Cancer Screening

Early detection of oral cancer is crucial for successful treatment. An oral cancer examination is a simple and painless procedure that can be completed in just a few minutes. It is typically performed during your regular dental check-up, providing an excellent opportunity to screen for signs of cancer. Your dentist or dental hygienist will thoroughly examine your face, neck, lips, and the inside of your mouth to look for any abnormal growths, lesions, or other indicators of cancer. Don’t hesitate to ask your dentist if you have any concerns about oral cancer or would like to learn more about the screening process.

Orthodontics

Achieving a beautiful, healthy, and functional smile is possible when teeth are properly aligned and jaws are well-positioned. Orthodontic treatment aims to address both cosmetic and functional issues associated with overcrowded, spaced-out, or misaligned teeth resulting from extractions, habits, or abnormal bite patterns. By applying principles of physics, orthodontics gradually moves teeth into their correct positions using various corrective appliances, such as braces, clear aligners, and functional orthopedic appliances. These appliances exert incremental and controlled forces on the teeth, which are regularly adjusted throughout the treatment period.

After correcting a malocclusion and achieving complete alignment, retainers are often used to maintain the stability of the result. It’s important to wear retainers for as long as you want to keep your teeth straight because teeth have a memory and tend to shift back to their original positions, even if they were not ideal.

Pediatric Dental Care

At our office, we’re dedicated to helping our patients achieve and maintain beautiful, healthy smiles. We understand that visiting the dentist can be daunting, especially for younger patients, which is why we strive to create a lighthearted and fun environment for them. To make their dental appointments more enjoyable, we have monitors installed above our chairs that allow them to watch their favorite YouTube videos or movies while we take care of their dental needs. For patients who need it, we also offer Nitrous Oxide to help them feel more comfortable during their visit.

Periodontal Treatment

If left untreated, periodontal disease can cause extensive damage to the gum tissue and ultimately result in tooth loss. It’s crucial to be aware of the early signs of periodontal disease, which often begins with gingivitis. Common symptoms of gingivitis include swollen, red, and bleeding gums. Seeking treatment for gingivitis at this stage can often reverse the disease’s progression and prevent long-term damage to the gum tissues. Other factors that may contribute to the development of periodontal disease include smoking, genetic predisposition, and uncontrolled diabetes.

Root Canals

Please note that Smile Generators does not provide endodontic or root canal therapy.

Same-Day Repairs

At our office, we’re dedicated to providing you with prompt, same-day service for all your denture needs. Whether you require a tooth replacement, repair for a crack or fracture, or simply an adjustment, we strive to deliver the highest quality care to ensure your satisfaction.

Sleep Apnea

Sleep apnea is a serious disorder that can have life-threatening consequences if left untreated. It’s characterized by repeated breathing pauses during sleep. For mild to moderate cases, a dental appliance may be a suitable treatment option. Our state-of-the-art CBCT 3D imaging technology can help determine if an oral appliance may be effective in improving or eliminating your sleep apnea symptoms.

Similar to a mouth guard or orthodontic retainer, the oral appliance is designed to hold your mandible (lower jaw) forward and prevent the tongue and soft tissues at the back of your throat from collapsing, thus keeping your airway open during sleep. These appliances are custom-made for each individual, ensuring maximum effectiveness and comfort. They’re also easy to wear, maintain, and portable, making them a convenient solution for sleep apnea.

Snoring Appliances

If your problem is limited to snoring and primary sleep apnea, an oral appliance can be an effective solution for you and your roommates to enjoy a quieter and more comfortable sleep. A custom-made oral appliance designed to address snoring is similar to a sports mouth guard or orthodontic retainer, and is only worn while sleeping. This removable and non-invasive treatment repositions your jaw slightly to promote a less restricted airflow, allowing for a more restful and peaceful sleep. If you are a primary snorer, our office can provide you with a custom-fabricated oral appliance to help alleviate your snoring problem.

Sports Mouth Guards

Each year, millions of people suffer dental and facial injuries due to sports-related trauma. While any sport can carry some risk of oral injury, activities with frequent body contact or the potential for being struck by objects like balls, bats, or sticks, can be particularly risky. Wearing a mouth guard is an effective way to significantly reduce the risk of damage to your teeth, cheeks, lips, tongue, face, or jaw from a sports-related injury. A mouth guard is a removable appliance made of sturdy plastic that fits comfortably over your teeth. At our office, we can assist you in selecting the right sports mouth guard to protect your smile.

Teeth Whitening

Dental discoloration caused by factors such as aging, food, medication, injury, or tobacco use can be treated using a non-invasive technique known as teeth whitening. While there are numerous over-the-counter teeth whitening products, the most effective and safe method is using professional-grade whitening systems offered by our dental office. Our system features a higher concentration of whitening components that can be applied efficiently to your teeth, resulting in the best possible outcome. Our dental office only offers professional take-home teeth whitening systems, and you can expect to see significant results within two weeks of using them.

The Preventative Program

Our dental hygiene program aims to protect your teeth and supporting structures by preventing dental diseases from developing, progressing, and recurring. To keep your oral health in optimal condition, we advise that you undergo regular professional dental cleanings. Additionally, maintaining a good dental home care routine is crucial. As part of our preventive program, we will review your current home care practices and provide recommendations on how to improve them. We will also demonstrate the proper techniques for brushing and flossing to ensure that you achieve the best possible oral hygiene results.

The TMJ Treatment

Head and neck pain can be frustrating and challenging to diagnose, and one of the most common culprits is temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction. Symptoms can vary from mild jaw clicking to severe head and neck pain that is unresponsive to medication. Chronic sinusitis on the same side as the affected joint is the leading cause of TMJ dysfunction, followed by cervical spine dysfunction. Accurate diagnosis typically requires CBCT imaging.

Treatment options include referral to a naturopathic physician, the use of a precision orthotic to position the mandible and condyles correctly in the glenoid fossae and relieve pressure on the joint, and referral to a qualified chiropractor.

Veneers

Are you bothered by gaps, chips, stains, or discolorations on your teeth? If so, porcelain veneers may be an excellent solution for you. This minimally invasive cosmetic procedure can achieve stunning results. Porcelain veneers are thin, custom-made facings crafted from the finest ceramic materials. They fit snugly over the front of your teeth, similar to fake fingernails. The preparation required for porcelain veneers is minimal, and the entire process only takes a few visits. Once they are fabricated and fitted, they are permanently bonded to your teeth. When done correctly, porcelain veneers can create absolutely stunning smile restorations.
